Montréal, Québec, October 19, 2018 – We are pleased to announce that LOGISTEC and the Port of Sydney have reached an agreement to market the Port of Sydney and provide all stevedoring services at the Joan Harriss Cruise Terminal starting October 2018. At the moment, the terminal is composed of a multi-purpose berth, which serves for both cruise and cargo vessels. A second berth will be constructed over the next twelve months, in time for the 2019 cruise season. “We’re excited to continue this partnership with the Port of Sydney. Now we have the chance to find new supply chain opportunities for cargo via the beautiful region of Sydney, Nova Scotia”, said Rodney Corrigan, Executive Vice-President, Operations of Logistec Stevedoring Inc. “This agreement will benefit both the community and the local economy.”

In addition, the LOGISTEC team will provide key logistical services to cruise vessels arriving in Sydney. With a growing presence in 37 ports and 61 terminals across North America, the LOGISTEC team understands the rigors of a turnaround day, and all the things that must happen for those – and all cruise logistics – to run flawlessly.

“We chose LOGISTEC because of their multifaceted expertise. They provide unparalleled service with an experienced sales and customer service team,” added Marlene Usher, Chief Executive Officer, Port of Sydney. “Our collaboration will definitely promote and strengthen the development of our port services.”

“The LOGISTEC family has been an integral part of the Sydney community for over 18 years. We want to continue this tradition and build on the future together,” summed up Madeleine Paquin, C.M., President and Chief Executive Officer, LOGISTEC Corporation.
