Logistec worked closely with CLM (formerly Consolidated Thompson) to develop a method to load iron ore from the terminal to vessel at the Port of Sept-Îles (QC), which does not yet have a deep-water dock.  The iron ore moves by rail from a mine located about 400 km north of Sept-Îles to a handling and storage facility at the Pointe-Noire Terminal in Sept-Îles.  Logistec manages the terminal and also loads cargo to a self-unloader, which then loads the Capesize vessel anchored in deep waters.  Logistec also ensures proper trimming of the vessel using a mobile crawler crane mounted on a barge and front-end loaders.
